Pro-rated Childcare Leave In Singapore

If you are entitled to 6 days of childcare leave a year, your childcare leave can be pro-rated according to how long you have worked.
You can get pro-rated childcare leave if you have worked less than a year or if you plan to leave your employer this year.

If you have worked for less than a year

If you are a new hire and entitled to 6 days of childcare leave per year, your employer may pro-rate your childcare leave based on the duration of your employment, subject to a minimum of 2 days.
The leave is pro-rated as follows:

If you are leaving your job

If you have worked for your employer for at least 3 months before leaving, your childcare leave will be pro-rated based on your completed months of service in the year of your resignation or termination.
I have worked for more than 3 months and have resigned from my company on 15 March 2015.
My pro-rated childcare leave will be based on 2 months (January and February 2015).
Hence, I’m entitled to 2 days of childcare leave.
The leave is pro-rated as follows:

(assuming you have worked for your employer for at least 3 months before leaving)

In accordance with the Employment Act, the 2 days of childcare leave cannot be pro-rated.
