You need to cancel your Personalised Employment Pass if you have been out of work for more than 6 months. You also need to return the cancelled pass card.

When to cancel	You need to cancel your Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) if you have been unemployed for more than 6 months. You can cancel the pass any time before it expires. However, you will not be able to reinstate the PEP.

Note: You don’t have to cancel the Pass each time you change employers. You only need to notify MOM using PEP Notification Form and email it to mom_pep_notification@mom.gov.sg If you have left Singapore permanently, you must cancel the pass within 1 week from your departure date, unless it has expired. Once your pass is cancelled, all the related Dependant’s Passes (DP), Long Term Visit Passes (LTVP), Letters of Consent (LOC) and Work Permits (WP) for your family will also be cancelled. Your employer must seek tax clearance from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) at least one month before you leave your job.

How to cancel the Personalised Employment Pass (PEP)

To cancel the Pass by pass holder

Log in to EP Online.
Cancel the Pass (PEP).
Cancellation is immediate
If you are still in Singapore, you can request for a 30-day Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) to get a valid stay in the meantime.
Print the STVP.
You must show the STVP and valid passport to the immigration officer when leaving Singapore.

To cancel the Pass by the Employment Agency

The cancellation request can be submitted up to 14 days in advance using myMOM Portal. (E.g. If you want the pass to be cancelled on 15 February, you can submit the request from 1 February.)

Log in to myMOM Portal to cancel the pass.
For pass holders who are still in Singapore, you can request for a 30-day Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) to give them a valid stay in the meantime.
The pass holder and you will both receive the STVP by email.
The pass holder needs to show the STVP and a valid passport to the immigration officer when leaving Singapore.

Discard the old pass card

The card is to be cut	You must cut the old work pass card in half upon successful cancellation.
Purpose of cutting the card	The purpose of cutting the old work pass card in half is to prevent any misuse.

How do I check if PEP is cancelled?

You can check if an Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) is cancelled by checking the validity of the pass. You don’t need to log in for this.
