When to cancel

Depending on which comes first, you must cancel the S Pass:

• Within 1 week after last day of notice; OR
• 1 day after the S Pass expires.
• You can submit a cancellation request up to 14 days in advance. (E.g. If you want the pass to be cancelled on 15 February, you can submit the request from 1 February.)

While becoming a PR

• You don’t need to cancel the S Pass if the pass holder becomes a Singapore permanent resident.
• MOM will cancel it automatically.

Who can cancel

• Employer or appointed employment agent (EA)

How much it costs

• Free Of Cost (FOC)

How long it takes

• Cancellation is immediate, unless you are submitting an advance cancellation request.

When levy stops

• 1 day before cancellation

Note:

• If the pass holder has left Singapore permanently, you must cancel the S Pass within one week from the pass holder’s departure date.
• When the S Pass is cancelled, all related Dependant’s Passes, Long Term Visit Passes and Work Permits will also be cancelled.

You need to

• 1) Seek tax clearance from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).

• 2) Settle all outstanding employment issues, such as paying of salary.

• 3) Buy an air ticket to send the pass holder to the international airport in the home country, nearest to the hometown, unless the pass holder agrees in writing to bear the cost.

To cancel while the pass holder is still in Singapore

• Log in to myMOM Portal.
• Cancel the S Pass.
• Cancellation is immediate and a 30-day Short Term Visit Pass (STVP) will be generated if the pass holder is still in Singapore.

• The pass holder and you will both receive the STVP by email.
• The pass holder needs to show the STVP and a valid passport to the immigration officer when leaving Singapore.

To cancel while the pass holder has left Singapore

• Log in to myMOM Portal..
• Cancel the S Pass.

The card is to be cut

• You must cut the old work pass card in half upon successful cancellation.

• The purpose of cutting the old work pass card in half is to prevent any misuse.
